looks like i should take my winter clothes from switzerland to australia. after weeks of over 40 degrees and heaps of bush fires the weather changed completely! rain for 5 days in a row! around 15 degrees. as they had no real rain in australia the last 5 years looks like they got the best christmas present they could get. bush fires are under control and the landscape is turning green! but to fill up the water reservoirs it should rain for a couple of weeks.
a couple of weeks ago i started to post my pictures on flickr. every day they put a list together of the most 500 interesting pictures of the day. they call the meter to evaluate the pictures interestingness. how to come on the interestingness page? no idea. i guess the best way is not to think about!

—-> what i didn’t know was, that you can fall out of the ranking. now i’m not in the top 500 of the 15th december 2006 in flickr explore. i learned a lot. basically don’t touch your picture after you’re in the top. don’t put it into groups for more “clicks”! you will fall out. less groups is better for the “interestingness” calculator. also tags should be minimal! less is more!
3 nights for me before i will fly to australia. i will fly directly into one of the biggest hazards on earth at the moment. around melbourne, specialy north-east several bush fires are still burning. check the bush fire seaso section of the herald sun!in australia they have a drought going on for 5 years now. no real rain in the last five years.
i’m exited to go to australia and really hope it will rain soon.
on the other hand the bush fires created some fascinating scenery’s. i know it sound a bit strange but have a look on your own.

what is equinox? i did not know this expression until 5 minutes ago. today is equinox, at least here in central europe. it means that day and night has exactly the same length. more or less i learned. but stop! i also learned that today is solstice! what is it today equinox or solstice? i know it in german what it is. Äquinoktium or in more common word “Tagundnachtgleiche”. now i’m completely confused. and all of that started, just because i was wondering how they call that thing in english!
i think what i’m looking for is solstice.
jetzt werde ich zum ersten mal politisch in meinem blog! eigentlich ist es zu früh um zu bellen, jedoch will ich nicht warten bis ein entscheid da ist. es wird wieder einmal mächtig and der realität vorbei politisiert. was im ständerat entschieden wurde “isch zum möge”! zwei gute berichte findet man in der NZZ, bericht 1 und bericht 2.
da kann noch soviel entschieden werden es werden immer schlupflöcher bleiben. das damokelsschwert hängt über jedem der daten runtersaugt vom netz und keiner der es macht fühlt sich schuldig. dies wird auch nicht mit schärferen gesetzten vermieden. wenn ich mit kinder im schulalter spreche, ist dies für sie schon völlig normal.
auch das sie jetzt suisa gebühren kassieren wollen auf mp3 playern finde ich absurd. ich als regemlässiger cd käufer werde schon wieder über den tisch gezogen. wievielmal soll ich den den künstler bezahlen? hat die industrie, die sich wohl durch gute lobby arbeit im bundeshaus gehör verschafft hat, immer noch nichts gelernt? seit doch mal innovativ und präsentiert kreative lösungen. ansonsten springen die letzten käufer auch noch ab! ich habe bis jetzt immer gerne eine cd gekauft! wie lange wird das wohl noch so sein?
ich habe einen betrag von über 40 rappen pro GB gehört die beim kauf eines mp3 players entrichtet werden muss. kostenexplosion par excellence! bei einem 40gb player, was ja schon fast standart ist, 16.- SFr extra. bravo ich kaufe in zukunft noch mehr im ausland. in einer globalisierten welt funktioniert das so nicht mehr!
noch eine anmerkung, ich bin durchaus der meinung das die künstler ihr geld erhalten sollen, aber nicht durch doppelte belastung der konsumenten. es wäre durchaus angebracht, wenn sich auch künstler gegen einen solchen irrsinn stellen würden.
i just found out who is the voice behind the song “don’t look back” by tèlèpopmusik. i know this song for quite a while and alwayse loved it because of the beautiful voice. it’s angela mcclueskey.
i was looking up about the bushfire’s in australia and googled around. what did i found? a nice pictures of the bernese alps. better the most famous three mountains in tha alps. the specialty is its a picture taken from the south, which is an not so common angle.
rumours, rumours, rumours…
around the new album of portishead i hear rumours for several years. yes several years, because the last official record was released back in 1998. by the way, its a must have their last record. live at roseland new york supported by a classical orchestra.
back to the new record, several online shops set a release date for the new album, all around january next year. but the portishead report on their blog that it will be released during the next year. the next year will bring a lot of new records of bands who i extremly like.
massive attack, cinematic orchestra, unkle, norah jones, air, st. germain and a lot more….
